Terms of service
Last updated 16 August 2026. Plain language on purpose — if something here is unclear, that is our failure, so ask.
1. Who you are dealing with
StudySift is operated by Piotr Gebski, Stolarskiego 10/12, 97-200 Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Poland, tax identification NIP 7732424192. Contact: piotr@gebski.cloud.
By using StudySift you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
2. What StudySift does
You upload a PDF. We extract its text, divide it into sections, and use AI models to rank each section by how much it appears to matter, then write notes, multiple-choice questions and flashcards from it.
You must be at least 16 years old to have an account.
3. What you upload is your responsibility
This is the most important clause here, so it is not buried.
By uploading a document you confirm that you have the right to do so — that you own it, are licensed to use it, or it is otherwise lawful for you to upload and process it in this way. Many textbooks and certification guides are copyrighted, and their licence may not permit this. Checking that is your responsibility, not ours.
You keep all rights in what you upload. You grant us only the narrow permission we need to provide the service to you: to store the file, extract its text, send that text to our AI provider, and generate a study pack for you. We do not use your documents to train models, we do not publish them, and we do not show them to anyone else.
If you are a rights holder and believe a document infringes your copyright, write to piotr@gebski.cloud with enough detail to identify the material, and we will investigate and remove it where the complaint is well-founded.
4. Credits
StudySift is paid for with credits. You buy a balance, and building a study pack draws it down. Before anything is spent we show you the price, and you are never charged more than the figure you were shown for that run.
- Credits are not money and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Credits are not transferable between accounts.
- We do not expire unused credits.
- If a run fails, you are not charged for it.
5. Your right to change your mind
If you are a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase without giving a reason.
Unused credits. Within 14 days of buying, you may ask for a refund of any credits you have not spent, and we will return them to your original payment method.
Credits you have spent. When you start building a study pack you are asking us to perform the service immediately. We will ask you to confirm that, and to acknowledge that once a pack has been built you lose the right to withdraw from that particular purchase — because it has been delivered and cannot be returned. Credits you have actually spent on a completed pack are therefore not refundable on this basis.
None of this affects your separate rights if something we provided was faulty or not as described. If StudySift does not work as it should, tell us and we will put it right or refund you.
6. What we do not promise
StudySift is built on AI models, and AI models get things wrong. The importance ranking is a judgement, not a fact. Notes may miss things. Questions may be imperfect, and an explanation may be mistaken.
StudySift is a study aid, not a substitute for the source material, and we do not guarantee any exam result. Always check anything that matters against the original document — every section shows its page numbers so you can.
The service is early and provided as-is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of faults.
7. Fair use of the service
Please do not: upload material you have no right to upload; upload anything unlawful; try to break, overload or circumvent the service or its limits; resell access; or use automated means to extract our content in bulk.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where we close an account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused credit balance.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law — and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
9. Ending the agreement
You may stop using StudySift and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account removes your packs and flashcards; see the privacy policy for what is kept afterwards and why.
10. Changes
We may change these terms. For a material change we will tell you by email before it takes effect, and if you do not accept it you may close your account and ask for a refund of your unused credits.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Poland. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, and you may bring proceedings there.
We would much rather sort a problem out directly, so please write to piotr@gebski.cloud first. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Questions go to piotr@gebski.cloud.
